Global Trust announces the appointment of Mr. Mike Carroll as Stakeholder Liaison for the FAO based Responsible Fisheries Management Certification. This announcement comes as the program records unprecedented international interest from some of the world’s leading fisheries and market organizations interested in the choice of alternative programs.
Mike joins Global Trust as a business advisor to engage with interested stakeholders and deepen the understanding of how the certification model works and to seek ideas on how the model can be continuously improved.
Mike joins Global Trust from the New England Aquarium where he was the Business Development Manager with a focus on market engagement and environmental advisory services.
Mike brings insights and viewpoints to the certification model from his experiences in New England Aquarium, as a commercial fisherman and from experiences in procurement and operations with Legal Sea Food and Ahold.
Mike will be based out of Boston, Massachusetts, and will be commencing engagements with the broader seafood community before and during the Boston Seafood Show.
Mike’s appointment builds upon Global Trust meetings and engagements with UN FAO in Rome, with markets, and most recently with environmental interest groups from across Canada, all who have added constructive contributions to the future thought process for the FAO based Responsible Fisheries Management program.
