McLaughlin and Harvey (MCLH) Construction have committed to The Responsible Energy Management (REM) Programme developed by Global Trust Certification.
MCLH will roll out the programme at their Marks and Spencer site in Ballymena, Northern Ireland. MCLH expect to benefit from the cost savings and green credentials that the REM programme delivers through best practice energy management. The REM programme will also contribute to MCLH’s score on the Considerate Constructors Scheme which ranks construction companies awareness of social and environmental issues.
It is anticipated that the REM programmes contribution will therefore lead to increased sales for MCLH due to the high value that organisations such as Marks and Spencer and other retailers place on the Considerate Constructors Scheme. REM will also contribute to operations within MCLH as it has been designed to work seamlessly with their existing ISO 14001 Environmental Management and upon completion of the programme, MCLH will be half way towards ISO 50001 Energy Management.
